WWE Keeping Quiet About The Rocks Possible SummerSlam Involvement

May 2024 · 2 minute read

The Rock’s name comes up to the surface just about every time a big WWE event rolls around. We are less than two weeks until SummerSlam takes over Detroit’s Ford Field, and The Great One’s name is churning in the rumor mill once again.

Grayson Waller does not have a match at SummerSlam, nor does he even have a segment with his talk show booked. That being said, he’s been pretty open about his shade against The Rock in recent memory. That might all be a part of the plan, but WWE isn’t talking.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE has remained silent about the possibility of The Rock showing up on August 5th. He wouldn’t need to do much to lay Grayson Waller out with a Rock Bottom and a People’s Elbow, but that doesn’t mean The Rock is a lock.

I asked if there’s gonna be somebody else, and they said ‘I don’t know, maybe.’ So, who knows? I mean, he could do it. I don’t know if Dwayne Johnson will come back, but if he’s going to do it for something, it’s gonna be for 50,000 fans in Detroit, which is this show.

I don’t know what he’s doing again, I know there’s a strike on and everything, but he’s always doing something.

The strike in Hollywood could open the door for The Rock to take a non-union role with WWE for a nice payday and one night of work. Only time will tell what he does, but it would be very interesting to see The Rock show up and not have anything to do with The Bloodline saga.

Grayson Waller has a ton of potential in WWE, and he’s only getting started. It seems that he will continue with the WWE Universe in the palm of his hand, until someone slaps him down.

What’s your take on The Rock showing up at SummerSlam? Do you think it will happen? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
