A Hunger Games Meeting! This weekend we will see the release of the first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This movie is probably one of the most anticipated sequel movies, after Star Trek Into Darkness, of the year.

A few days ago, Lionsgate released a new image of Katniss Everdeen’s reunion with her sister Primrose “Prim” from the upcoming sequel. Now the movie studio released three new images featuring a pensive Katniss, a meeting between President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), the new Head Gamekeeper, and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) being taken away by Capitol guards.

The first teaser trailer will premiere during the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday April 14th. The MTV awards show will be hosted by Rebel Wilson, who was rumored to be possibly added to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay cast. Last week, MTV released 10 seconds of footage from the teaser trailer, which shows off Katniss and Peeta Mellark’s (Josh Hutcherson) introduction to District 12 as the new champions of the 74th Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire follows the events after the first Hunger Games film. Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark return to District 12 as newly crowned champions of the 74th Hunger Games as they are reunited with their families. The pair’s homecoming is short-lived when they later set out on a Victory Tour of the other Districts of Panem. While on the tour, Katniss begins to understand why so many people want to rebel against the Capitol and President Snow. Katniss and Peeta later participate in the Third Quarter Quell, or 75th Hunger Games, which is made up of the past winners of the last 25 Hunger Games.

Francis Lawrence directed The Hunger Games: Catching Fire when the previous director Gary Ross left the film sequel to pursue other projects. Francis Lawrence will also direct The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will hit theaters everywhere on November 22nd, in IMAX.
